A website counter that works wonders
Everyone that surfs the web has stumbled upon sites that have a visitor counter. In my personal opinion, they're kind of annoying. But, there they are. If you have, or are building, your own site you must have wondered whether or not to put one in yours. What is the use of it, other than knowing how many people have been there? Well, that would be the only use if you just have a regular counter. When I was developing my own site, I came across a counter called StatCounter. (I am just a user, I don't work for them) It's a free counter you can install on your site, but it has many more features. For starters, you can choose if you want it to be invisible! You can see how many single visitors have visited your page, how many are new, how many are repeat visitors. You can see where they're from (city and country!), their IP address and all their path throughout your site: what page they started on, where they went next; and how much time they spent on your site. You can even check out which are your most popular pages. There are many other features that will help you develop your site better. You can see what browser your visitors are using, so you can make sure that they are able to see your site properly. You can even know what screen resolution they have. You can also see if they found your link somewhere and it brought them to your site. You'll be able to check their recent keyword activity and what search engine they've been using. That way you know how to invest in SEOs and how to optimize your site for them. Aside from being a very useful tool for every website owner, it is also lots of fun just to see what people have been looking at in your site and the many different places they come from.
